From June, Grants are available from the Councillors' Initiative Fund for residents, local groups and businesses to encourage beneficial community activity.
Purpose of fund
Each councillor has a total of £1,000 available to support work relating to:
- small scale environmental improvements
- community safety issues
- beneficial community projects
Who can apply?
Following discussions with their local councillor, applications can only be submitted by the organisations and individuals listed below:
- constituted* voluntary and community organisations
- parish and town councils
- High Peak Borough Council
- Derbyshire County Council
- Derbyshire Police
- Peak District National Park Authority
Where there is more than one councillor for an area or your suggestion covers more than one area, our councillors can work together to combine some or all of their funding.
(* A constituted group is a group run on a voluntary basis and set up as an organisation in its own right with a management committee, constitution and its own bank account.)
Can anyone else make an application?
The following organisations can make an application and lead a project but not receive funding.
- informal (un-constituted) voluntary and community organisations or a constituted group without a bank account
- a safer neighbourhood team
- individual borough or parish town councillors
An eligible organisation (see 'Who can apply?') would have to be willing to manage funds on behalf of the project.
How to apply
- discuss your suggestion with your local councillor before completing the
- ensure that your project is managed by an eligible organisation, and named on the application
- complete the application form and return by email to democratic.services@highpeak.gov.uk
Applications for 2022-2023 must be submitted by Friday 17th February 2023.
