Information on the 'Refreshingly Buxton' marketing toolkit

The 'Refreshingly Buxton' toolkit was developed as part of our Visitor Economy Strategy for Buxton. It was announced in June 2021 and launched in the autumn 2021. It replaces the previous 'England's Leading Spa Town' toolkit which was developed in 2014.

The toolkit comprises of :-

  • A simple easy to use online Buxton branding toolkit which is free for businesses to use
  • A sticker for use in venues/window
  • Presentation of the evolution of the brand and how toolkit can be used

The aim of the branding is

  • for all businesses to use the brand consistently and positively, to the benefit of the image of the town to visitors and residents alike
  • to reinforce appreciation of Buxton's location and role within the Peak District
  • to express a positive sense of 'we do things differently in Buxton', engendering a sense of pride in our town and its idiosyncrasies

Included in the toolkit is some useful guidance in order to achieve it's aims as set out above.


Terms of use

The Buxton marketing toolkit (2021) should only be used in connection with business and activity within Buxton and its surrounding area (SK17 postcode).

It should be used positively, to the benefit of the image of the town.

It should be used to express a sense of pride in the town.

It should be used to reinforce the key messaging:

  • Buxton's location and role within the Peak District
  • Buxton is friendly and welcoming
  • Buxton is spirited and independent - we do things differently here
  • Buxton is the best of both worlds - you can do it all here
  • A visit here can be refreshing, relaxing, revitalising
