UK Shared Prosperity Fund

The High Peak UKSPF programme ended on 31st March 2026.

Background & Overview

UKSPF funding was awarded from central government over a period of four years spanning 2022-2026.  The funding was allocated in two separate rounds:

The first allocation, direct from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, covered the period 2022-2025, with High Peak Borough Council receiving £2,132,814*

Funds were allocated to deliver activity across three priority areas, with direct investments made as follows:-

  • Communities and Place £997,897
  • Support for Business £806,941
  • People and Skills £245,945


In 2025-2026, The UK Shared Prosperity Fund was distributed by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), with High Peak Borough Council allocated a total of £986,229*. £898,698 UKSPF plus an additional £87,531 capital provided directly by EMCCA.

This final allocation was used to reinforce activity across the same three priority areas:-

  • Communities and Place; £615,452
  • Support for Local Business £295,777
  • People and Skills £35,000

*inc Management & Administration costs for UKSPF & REPF delivery

The programme was delivered through:-

1.      Open Procurement 

2.      Direct spend by High Peak Borough Council

3.      Award of grants through a competitive grant process

A UKSPF Board was established to oversee the delivery of UKSPF in High Peak.

 


The Rural Economy Prosperity Fund

In addition to the core UKSPF funding, High Peak Borough Council were also allocated Rural England Prosperity Funding (REPF) to support our rural areas.

The High Peak Rural Fund ended on 31st March 2026.

For 2023-2025, the Council received £375,453 additional capital spend from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs- Rural England Prosperity Fund.

For 2025-26, a further £120,182 rural fund was allocated to rural business and community grants.

The Rural Fund was managed alongside the UKSPF allocation and overseen by the UKSPF Board.

UKSPF Project Delivery

At the heart of the UKSPF investment plan was the need to deliver strategic projects to support economic growth and a sense of pride in place in our communities.

UKSPF Grants Programme

Between 2022-2026, grant funding totalling £1.4 million was issued directly to local businesses, community groups and civic societies through multiple grant schemes.
