Bulky Collections
Please contact Glossopdale Furniture Project if your furniture is still usable. They are a voluntary group helping people on low incomes buy furniture and collect unwanted usable furniture free of charge. Visit their website if you think your unwanted furniture could be used by someone else.
We offer a chargeable collection service for items not suitable for reuse.
What does a bulky collection cost?
Collection of up to 4 items costs £20.00.
Extra items are £4.60 each (up to a total of 9 items).
If you get council tax or housing benefit the costs are reduced to £10.00 for up to 4 items and £2.30 per additional item.
When does a bulky collection take place?
Collections take place every week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Bookings must be made by midnight on Sunday to be collected the following week. We will contact you to confirm the day of your collection.

Where should bulky items be left for collection?
Items should be left at your bin collection point. We are unable to collect your items if you can't present them at your bin collection point. We will not enter your house or garage to collect items.
We will contact you if there are any problems with a collection. Refunds are offered if we are unable to collect.
Household chemicals or DIY waste should be taken to the tip at Melandra Road in Glossop, or Waterswallows Road in Buxton.
