Employment & Skills Charter
The council has adopted an Employment and Skills Charter for planning applications which will create more than 20 temporary or permanent jobs
This Charter aims to ensure that local people - especially those who are unemployed or potentially disadvantaged - as well as local businesses, can access opportunities for jobs, on-going training, or local contracts as part of major developments within the borough.
The council asks that as part of major planning applications, applicants review the attached charter and devise or agree to activities to support local employment and skills. The Charter and any agreed actions are voluntary, but could form part of a planning permission if consent is approved.
Applicants should note that the Regeneration team could comment on actions to support employment and skills as part of the consultation on the planning application and these comments could be viewed and taken into account by the planning committee.
