University of Derby Events

Every year University of Derby in Buxton celebrates National Apprenticeship Week with a wide variety of events and campaigns designed to increase awareness of apprenticeships, increase learner and employer voice and feedback around apprenticeship provision, celebrate success, hard work and support, and to showcase how apprenticeships could help both learners and employers across the region.

Each year there are a number of opportunities for employers to get involved and in 2026 this will mainly be on Thursday 12th Feb. From 8.30am to 9.30am when they will be hosting Anthony Impey MBE Leader of the Department for Educations Apprenticeship Ambassador Network for a round table discussion (and breakfast) regarding all things 'apprenticeship'.

If you are an employer who has previously employed apprentices, currently employs apprentices or would like to understand more about their future or give input around provision, funding and more, this free to attend round table event at The Devonshire Dome, Buxton would be great for you to feedback and/or find out more about the amazing world of apprenticeships.

Later that same day (Thursday 12th Feb) they are holding their annual apprenticeship focussed open evening from 5-7pm, again at The Devonshire Dome, Buxton. As a part of this they invite employers to hold a stand to showcase their business to the likely 100+ attendees, giving employers direct exposure to local residents and an opportunity to showcase who they are, what they do and any vacancies they may have, apprenticeship or otherwise.
