Job Description |
The Role: |
To provide a range of roofing repairs and other external works including flagging, minor brickwork, pointing, floor screeding, along with other general building work within the repairs of commercial properties across HP and SM areas. |
Main Responsibilities: |
· Conducting Roofing repairs and strip backs across various roof types and other external ground works, such as flagging and floor screeding. · Completing roofing and general building work to a high standard across the Alliance, predominantly on commercial properties but may include domestic as and when required on the HP housing stock. · Completing work as effectively as possible and to the defined standards, including the collection and return where required of materials to stores. · Undertaking other trades duties within your skills and experience such as: brick work, replacement of gutters, soffits, and facias, flagging and replacing loft insulation. · Consulting with the scheduling team on the completion of the work including, where appropriate, the planning of work to ensure the most effective use of time and resources, organisation is key to this role. · Liaising with the scheduler / supervisors to ensure that they are made aware of the progress of work including abortive call, extra works and where works may extend past the target date. · Undertaking "call-outs" outside normal working hours in line with the out of hour's rota. · Engaging as part of the effective operational team, focused on achievement of service plans and departmental priorities, providing guidance in your area of professional specialism. · Providing instruction and supervision to apprentices and trainees where appropriate. · Respecting the need for confidentiality when processing personal/customer data. · Working hours: On site from 8:30am to 5:00pm. · Working on buildings within the High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands areas. · You may be redirected at short notice to another location or borough while already on a job. · Priorities will be Public building/property repairs, followed by housing repairs. · Must have experience and knowledge of working on commercial properties, particularly specialist roofing works. Other Duties The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied therefore the post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate to the role and as requested by his/her line manager, including: · Carrying out damp and mould treatments and cleans. · Carrying out duties appropriate to the grade of the post, including occasional travel to other offices as required. · Promoting continuous improvement and delivering demonstrable high-quality products and services which embrace quality standards. · Demonstrating personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR Strategy. |
