The Manchester Credit Union

Information about the Credit Union and how to join.

What are credit unions?

Credit unions are non-profit making financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members. They offer savings, great value loans and insurance products, plus they are local and ethical and exist solely to benefit their members.

Who can join?

Anyone who lives or works in High Peak, Manchester, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, or Rochdale, can join the Manchester Credit Union.

What the benefits?

People join the credit union for different reasons, many of them to save or borrow money.

Benefits include:

  • access to low cost loans with flexible repayment terms
  • free life savings insurance - if you die, your family may receive as much as twice your savings.

Drop in sessions - Glossop, Buxton and Gamesley

The credit union offer drop in sessions for anyone that wants to find out more:

  • every Tuesday 9am-1pm - High Peak Housing Office, 34 Winster Mews, Gamesley, SK13 0LU
     
  • first Wednesday of every month 9am-12.30pm - Fairfield Children's Centre, Victoria Park Road, Fairfield, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 7PE
     
  • every Thursday 9.15am-2.15pm - Glossop One Stop Shop, Municipal Building, Glossop, Derbyshire, SK13 8AF
