We are committed to supporting healthy lifestyles and work with Derbyshire County Public Health to provide the Derbyshire Healthy Lifestyle Programme.

The programme can help you

How can I join the programme?

This is a referral based programme. You have to complete a baseline assessment with your GP or practice nurse to see if the programme is right for you. Your GP or nurse will then complete a referral form and make an appointment for you to visit your local centre.

The programme is for anyone over 16 years old, who currently does little or no exercise and has one or more of the following conditions

  • Weight Management BMI 28+
  • At risk of Coronary Vascular Disease
  • Diagnosed mental health problems
  • Joint or mobility problems
  • Respiratory illnesses

You can join the healthy lifestyle programme at any of the following centres

The Unit, Glossop 

Each facility offers an exercise and weight management programme designed to support you achieve a healthy lifestyle by increasing physical activity levels and improving your nutrition choices.

    Activities are overseen by fully qualified staff and can be accessed during the day or evening. The choice of activities varies at each centre but includes:

    • A 12-week weight management programme
    • Gym sessions
    • Class based activities including yoga, Pilates, aqua fit, and low intensity circuits
    • Swimming
    • Walking groups
