It's not my fault the bin is missing or damaged; I pay my council tax so why do I have to pay extra?

If your bin is missing please have a good look around, it may have been put back in a slightly different place or taken in by someone else by mistake.  Ask your neighbours if they have seen it!

We understand the introduction of a charge will cause frustration, especially if  the bin is missing or damaged through no fault of your own.

If your bin falls into the back of the collection vehicle we will leave you a note and replace the bin free of charge.

The council tax we receive is only a small proportion of your whole bill.  This amount is then further split for each service area. Approximately 65p of your council tax comes to waste collection each week to cover the cost of collecting of your waste; it does not cover the cost of supplying wheeled bins.
