This week, Equity Housing Group, a social housing provider based in Manchester, has opened two new housing developments in High Peak.
The Derbyshire based developments comprise of Surrey Street in Glossop, a 51-property portfolio owned by Equity Housing Group, and 14 two and three-bedroom properties at the large new housing estate, Forge Manor in Chinley. The developments, built by Westleigh Homes and Wainhomes respectively, will address the lack of affordable housing within the area.
With house prices within the borough having steadily inflated over recent years, High Peak has a distinct need for affordable homes, which is being addressed by Equity Housing Group's 65 new affordable properties.
All of the Surrey Street development will be affordable rent properties, while 60% of the Forge Manor properties are offered as affordable rent and 40% will be sold via shared ownership. Residents will move into the properties in May.

They are a very welcome addition to the range of housing options available in the borough and I hope all those who occupy these properties are very happy in their new homes."
