Changes to Christmas bin collections online now

Christmas is almost here and whatever you have planned this year remembering any changes to bin collections is probably the last thing on your list!

Thankfully High Peak Borough Council is here to help. Our online bin day checker is now up-to-date with any Christmas collection changes.

Collections of black and brown bins which would normally fall on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Friday 27 December or New Year's Day will be altered while green-lidded bin collections will be suspended until after the holiday season.

Although the green-lidded bin will not be collected over Christmas, residents are advised to continue putting all cooked and uncooked food waste (including vegetable peelings and bones) in their bins in preparation for the rounds to begin again in the New Year.

Jean Todd, Executive Councillor for Climate Change, Environment and Community Safety, said: "Christmas is a busy enough time without having to remember when your bins are going to be collected so we're making it as easy as possible for residents to check via our website.

"All you need to do is enter your street name or postcode and select your address to see any changes to bin collections over the festive season. Our website also includes information about which items go in which bins should anyone need a reminder!"

Green-lidded bin collections will be suspended from Monday 23 December to Friday 3 January.
