Affordable home ownership in Buxton

If you'd love to own your own home but thought you couldn't afford to then a new housing development in Buxton might just change your mind.

26 two and three bedroomed new homes on the Permission Homes development at College Hill Park - the former Harpur Hill College site - are being offered at a reduced rate of 80% of the market value.

Executive Councillor for Housing and Licensing, Fiona Sloman, said: "Many people dream of owning their own home and we want to help people achieve that ambition by encouraging house builders to increase the supply of affordable homes in the High Peak.

"I am delighted to say that, working in partnership with Persimmon Homes, we've been able to ensure 26 of the new houses at the College Hill Park site in Buxton are on sale at a reduced rate.

"This is great news which will open the door to home ownership to more people and I would encourage anyone interested to get in touch to see what's on offer."

Dave Hodgson, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes North West, added: "There are a number of Government schemes that makes homes affordable, but the High Peak Borough Council scheme targets local people, giving them a helping hand to buy a home in their own community.

"College Hill Park is a development of 153 new properties that is proving extremely popular and we are looking forward to welcoming the first residents by the autumn. It is good to know that, through this hassle-free Council initiative, many of those homeowners will be local.
