Brown bin

Only use your brown bin to recycle: glass, plastic (bottles, pots, tubs and trays) food tins, drink cans, foil, aerosols, cartons, paper and cardboard.

Important REMINDER: Remember to leave your recycling loose! Plastic bags and bin liners can't be recycled in your brown bin and can contaminate the entire collection.

We can only recycle...

Glass bottles and jars 
Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays
Food tins, drinks cans, foil and aerosols
Food and drink cartons
Cardboard
Paper

We can't recycle...

Black plastic bottles, pots, tubs or trays
Plastic bags or film
Food waste or liquid - containers should be empty and rinsed clean
Polystyrene trays or packaging
Plastic toys or coat hangers
Electrical items
Photographs
Wrapping paper and cards made from foil or that contain glitter or plastic
Books - Books in good condition can be donated locally to a charity shop

If your brown bin is full and you have extra recycling, please put this beside your bin in a cardboard box or an open bag.
