Sports, recreation and tourism

Derbyshire Dales District Council, High Peak Borough Council and the Peak District National Park Authority commissioned consultants Knight Kavanagh & Page to produce an assessment of the existing and future needs of our communities for open space, sports and recreational facilities, in line with the requirements of Planning Policy Guidance 17.

The study has developed local standards for the provision of open space, sports and recreational facilities. They will be used to deliver new facilities alongside new housing and other developments and a joint open space, sport and recreation strategy for Derbyshire Dales and the High Peak.

The documents detail the findings of the audit of quantity and quality (including use, location and cost) of our existing open spaces and sports facilities.
