Memorial Park was created in 1920 to commemorate the loss of 108 Whaley Bridge men in the First World War.

There is a car park next to the sports pavilion off Park Road.
Pedestrian entrances are on Goyt Road, Wheatsheaf Road and Reservoir Road.

- floodlit artificial grass pitch (booked through Whaley Bridge Parish Council)
- concrete skate park for all abilities
- pump track with 3 tracks for beginners, intermediates and advanced riders
Restoration project
We were awarded £478,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund and BIG Lottery in 2010 towards a major project to restore the park's original layout and landscaping features. Work included
- restoration of the cenotaph
- a new children's play area
- a new pedestrian bridge over Todd Brook
- improvements to pedestrian entrances
Green Flag award
For the last two years Memorial Park has won a Green Flag award and is named as one of the best parks in the country. The flag flies by the Wheatsheaf Road entrance to the park.
