Brown bin

We're unable to deliver new 360 litre brown bins due to delays in delivery of stock. If you request a 360 litre bin then a 240 litre bin will be delivered in substitution and then replaced with a 360 litre one once we receive more stock.

If you need to put out extra recycling please leave it in an open cardboard box or untied plastic bag by the side of your bin.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding with this matter.

Use your brown bin to recycle glass, plastic (bottles, pots, tubs and trays) food tins, drink cans, foil, aerosols, cartons, paper and cardboard.

Remember to leave your recycling loose! Plastic bags and bin liners can't be recycled in your brown bin and can contaminate the entire collection.

Please check our Leave it loose [2MB]  recycling guide before recycling.

Not all plastics can be recycled. It's important to check what items are acceptable in the brown bin before recycling.

HPBC - Plastics Guide [1021KB]

Please check out our Life with Less Plastic [896KB] toolkit for hints and tips on how you can reduce the amount of single-use plastics you may use.
