Tenant Engagement ... have your say
We are committed to providing good quality homes across the High Peak area and listening to our tenants to continually improve our services.
We pride ourselves on listening to our tenants and making changes to our services as a result.
As a tenant your voice matters!
We want to know how tenants feel about their home, the communities they live in and the services we provide. We are looking for tenants to help us shape our services and have their say on issues that matter to them. We understand that tenants may wish to engage with us in different ways, so there are lots of different opportunities to get involved.
Ways to get involved
Tenant Engagement Group
The Tenant Engagement Group is a group of tenants working closely with the Council to make sure tenants voices are heard. Their role is to represent the views of tenants across the borough, raise concerns, share ideas and review and scrutinise performance, policies and service delivery. The group contribute to the decision-making process for the Councils Housing Services and make recommendations for the Housing Board.
Representatives of the Tenant Engagement Group also sit on the Housing Board. The Housing Board is made up of elected councillors and tenants.
The Housing Board:
- Provide oversight of the operation and management of the Council's housing stock
- Review the Council's compliance with the legislative regulatory regime, including compliance with the Regulatory Framework set by the Regulator of Social Housing
- Scrutinise the performance against Key performance Indicators relating to the operation and management of the Council's housing stock
- Scrutinise the development of the Council's Housing Strategy
- Ensure that the views of tenants are considered by the Council in the operation and management of their housing stock
- Make recommendations as appropriate to the Select Committee and the Executive
If you would like to be a Tenant Engagement Member we would love to hear from you. The meetings are bimonthly and can be in person or by Teams
Community Champions are a voice for their area. They share ideas, feed in local concerns, and work closely with the Tenant Engagement Group to improve local neighbourhoods.
Intermittent Champions Offer feedback on specific questions and policy decisions. They dip in and out of tenant engagement at times that suit them. They act as a sounding board by testing new ideas.
Quick Q Panel
Have your details logged on our system so we can contact you when we would like a quick answer to a question. Your response will help shape our services.
Tenant Scrutiny Panels
Each year we will look at specific services in detail and ask you to scrutinise how we are performing and make suggestions on what we can do better. In 2026 we will be reviewing the following:
- How we handle complaints.
- How we deal with reports of anti-social behaviour.
- How we deliver our repairs service.
- How we manage our neighbourhoods including communal areas.
Please let us know if you would like to be involved in scrutinising any of these services or if you have any suggestions on how we can improve.
Estate Walks
From April to September the Housing Team will be conducting estate walks, and you are welcome to join them to raise any concerns you may have or to make suggestions on what actions we can take to improve your neighbourhood. We will publicise these walks in advance including on our website and on social media.
We are always open to new ways of working with tenants. If there's a better way for you to get involved, please get in touch and let us know.

We want every tenant to have the opportunity to get involved and we are committed to removing barriers that might stop people from taking part.
