Why do we need a roundabout there?

The roundabout will provide access to land at Hogshaw and Waterswallows (Dale Lane) so that new homes can be built. These housing sites, and the proposal to build the roundabout, form part of the housing delivery policies within the adopted High Peak Local Plan.

Development of these housing sites is subject to separate delivery programmes and timescales. We have listened to recent feedback regarding site boundaries at Hogshaw and this is being considered as part of ongoing discussions with the developer. Any forthcoming scheme will have to be compliant with the current Local Plan.

There will be an opportunity for further public consultation on these developments through the statutory planning process once any application is received.

When will the work start?

The construction of the roundabout commenced on the 23 May and Galliford Try are working towards removing the traffic management system and completing the roundabout before the Christmas holiday.

Project Updates:

Utility Diversion: Openreach, Cadent and Electricity North West are undertaking diversion works during the period of the construction works.

Golf Club works: Some alterations have been made to the golf course around the 14th green and 15th  tee. These works are now complete.

Advanced tree felling: This work was completed at the end of February.

Below you can view a plan which identifies which trees have been removed. You can also view new tree planting proposals on the landscaping plan which shows replacement planting around the new roundabout.

How will the work affect me?

Two way traffic lights were installed on the 26th September. There is a full time operative who monitors traffic conditions and manually changes the traffic signals when required to keep the traffic moving.

We will update this page with information in advance and share this information on our Facebook and Twitter accounts so that you can plan your trip and allow extra time for travel.

You can also visit the Derbyshire County Council web site where you can view current and planned roadworks in your area..
